Origin of Deaconess:

“I commend unto you Phoebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succorer if many, and of myself also.” (Romans 16:1-2)

Supporting Role:

Deaconess
 Responsible for preparation of baptism garments and communion elements
 Team up with and assist Deacons and Pastor in duties that men cannot perform
 Support and help promote the church vision as given by the Pastor
 Partner with Deacons in hospital watch care ministry and visiting the sick and shut-in
 Encourage and support young women as they grow toward Christian maturity
 Serve the church in various capacities.
 Participate in and support all ministries of the church
